About the presentation of the report, Janis Rey, General Manager of LIMA EXPRESS and CEO of VINCI Highways Peru commented that the company's vision is to make Lima a more connected and sustainable city. For that reason, its commitment to positive mobility incorporates all dimensions of sustainability. The more companies and allied entities we join in this objective, the better result we will obtain to make Lima a better city," said Janis Rey.
As part of its environmental commitment, LIMA EXPRESSES implemented climate actions aligned with the VINCI Highways global roadmap to 2030, which has the following objectives reduce GHG emissions by 51% compared to 2018 levels, decrease water consumption by 50% and achieve total elimination of own waste to landfill. In addition, the company has incorporated the risks associated with climate change as part of its business strategy to ensure a resilient infrastructure.
With a focus on energy efficiency, LIMA EXPRESA has achieved to date reduce emissions of GHG (scopes 1 and 2) in more than 40% since 2018. This was achieved through the electrification of the vehicle fleet, the implementation of its first solar photovoltaic system, which supplies energy to one of its toll plazas, and the implementation of LED lights. The company plans to continue with the electrification of its vehicle fleet and expand the installation of solar panels in 2023.
