Toyota del Perú completed a new edition of the Circular Economy project to create utilitarian parts from auto parts.

During 4 months, third year students of the Industrial Design specialty at the Faculty of Art and Design of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), worked on promoting sustainable development through the Circular Economy projectProduct Design with Reuse of Automotive Spare Parts/Accessories«, thanks to an agreement between the university and Toyota del Peru, with the support of Dragonfly.
In this edition, the objective was to design seats based on waste materials from the automotive sector. Thirty-five students participated. The projects reflected the creativity and professionalism of each of the participants, as well as their commitment to a sustainable world.
“From Toyota del Perú we strive to have a lower environmental impact and contribute to the development of a sustainable society in harmony with our environment. In that sense, we seek to encourage the creativity of students to address current environmental challenges through our Circular Economy initiative,” commented David Caro, Corporate Affairs & ESG Manager of Toyota del Perú.

When academia and business come together on sustainable projects, these impressive results are achieved - we look forward to the 2024 projects!
