Welcome to the era of corporate climate regulation

In a context of growing urgency to curb climate change and its negative impacts on people, economies and the planet, corporate climate disclosure is moving from voluntary action to legal obligation in several countries. European climate regulation seeks to influence the entire global value chain, thus impacting companies in Latin America.

According to KPMG, global companies are preparing for mandatory sustainability reporting. The study reveals that almost all the top 250 companies and most of the top 100 companies in the per country already report sustainability, with a increase in carbon reduction targets and biodiversity reporting from 2022.

The report highlights soon-to-be mandatory practices, such as the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and includes perspectives from KPMG's global experts.
