In line with its commitment to promote sustainability and development in the regions where it operates, Scotiabank announced the launch of the ScotiaRISE Impact Fund to finance development projects at the national level. More than one million soles will be distributed among the winners in order to promote economic resilience and contribute to the advancement of Peru.
“At Scotiabank, sustainability is transversal in each of the pillars of our strategy. And ScotiaRISE is one of the platforms we have to be allies of the various development projects that already exist in our country. We are convinced of the power of alliances to generate a sustained impact, and this contest will allow us to identify the best initiatives and, together with the various organizations, continue working for a more sustainable and equitable present and future,” said Giuliana Pacheco, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager at Scotiabank.
Both locally and regionally, Scotiabank has extensive experience financing development projects that address critical challenges in education, inclusion and the environment. To date, the Bank has contributed more than 7 million soles, benefiting around 130 thousand people nationwide through alliances with recognized entities such as Laboratoria, CARE Perú, Enseña Perú, Plan International, World Vision, among others.
Which organizations can participate?
The ScotiaRISE Impact Fund will be allocated to projects that fall into four categories: financial education, employability, diversity and inclusion, and environmental action.
Participating organizations must be registered as recipients of donations (granted by SUNAT), as well as present evidence of achievements and previous experience in the formulation and implementation of development projects. In addition, they will have to include a corporate volunteering strategy within their intervention proposal.
It should be noted that the same organization may apply for more than one category; however, it will be the winner in only one.
