Pacífico Seguros adds more people trained in risk prevention with its Comunidad Segura (Safe Community) program

  • This year, two prevention fairs were held in the district of La Victoria, in the Mancco Capac and Gamarra squares, respectively.
  • Comunidad Segura has trained +28 thousand people since 2022.

Aware of the importance of being prepared for different situations in people's daily lives, Pacífico Seguros has Comunidad Segura, its social impact program that encourages families and entrepreneurs to improve their prevention capabilities. This year it has held two fairs in the district of La Victoria.

Training for entrepreneurs

Last Saturday, July 8, more than 350 people participated in the Great Environmental Entrepreneurial Fair La Victoria 2023, where they received training on business formalization, risk management, environmental management and management of social networks. It had the support of the Municipality of La Victoria and the presence of Protege 365 (a digital platform for business risk management from Pacífico Seguros), Contigo Emprendedor and Crece (from BCP), Mibanco and the University of Lima. Also bringing insurance options at an affordable cost to the attendees.

6 out of 10 entrepreneurs were individuals with a business, highlighting the importance of accessing the necessary knowledge to promote their ventures. At the end of the fair, 97% of the attendees stated that they were satisfied and very satisfied with the development of the fair.

"The fair was very interesting and enriching because of the variety of opportunities for entrepreneurs like me. I learned aspects of prevention, which I often underestimate. I hope to participate in more events to continue preparing myself to protect my business and my family," shares Marielys Babera, a textile entrepreneur who participated in the fair.

As this was also an environmental event, Pacifico measured its CO2 emissions and offset 100% of its carbon footprint.

Home Hazard Preparedness

On March 19, the Risk Prevention at Home Fair was held, which was attended by more than 340 people, who learned how to prepare for earthquakes, how to make a family emergency plan, prevent electrical hazards and other useful tips to apply at home. It was supported by the Municipality of La Victoria, INDECI, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, and Gloria, a client company of Pacifico.

99.10% of the attendees perceived themselves as prepared or very prepared to prevent risks in their home after the fair.

"Since 2022, we have trained approximately 28 thousand people in fairs and workshops with Comunidad Segura, which shows the commitment to protect people's happiness also from the prevention and preparation approach. We are grateful to all the companies and organizations that have joined the initiative," said Jorge Lazo Arias, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager of Pacífico Seguros.
