What environmental goals has Ferreycorp set for itself?
We seek to reduce our carbon footprint, [by] reducing our water, energy and non-recyclable waste footprint. We have been working on environmental management in 80 sites, which are the main sites we have in Peru. We already have 13 carbon neutral locations today. In 2022 we will reach 77% of renewable electricity, compared to 55% in 2021. In terms of water reduction, in one plant alone, the Parts Distribution Center, we reduced consumption by more than 30% [more than 6,000 cubic meters].
We also have works for taxes in expansion and improvement of the water system, and improvement of drinking water and water treatment. In addition, we have been working with the Ministry of the Environment on a clean production agreement based on the services we provide: giving a second and third life to the machines, looking for recyclable packaging that allows us to reduce our footprint.
