Arca Continental in Peru donated more than 3 million plastic caps and metal sheets collected as part of its 'Tapisoles de Inca Kola' campaign. These have been delivered to the NGO Tierra y Ser to finance the purchase of orthopedic devices for people in vulnerable situations in the country.
"Our 'Tapisoles de Inca Kola' campaign is an important part of our returnability platform, as it promotes the consumption of returnable containers among the population through the exchange of their caps and badges for promotions in different stores and a variety of benefits."said Karina Rodriguez, Marketing Manager of Arca Continental's soft drinks category in Peru.
"We are delighted that this campaign, in addition to being part of our circular economy strategy, allows us to generate a positive impact on the lives of many people, through the donation of the caps and badges of the promotion for social purposes."Alberto Martos, Arca Continental's Sustainability Manager in Peru, added.
The purpose of the NGO Tierra y Ser is to help the people who need it most and to take care of the environment. With the collection of 500 thousand plastic caps, the NGO benefits a person through the donation of a wheelchair.
"We want to positively impact Peruvians through the promotion of a culture of environmental care. The impact of recycling a bottle cap allows us to give orthopedic tools to people in vulnerable conditions, which improves the economy of the family and facilitates the lives of people.", said Erika Schaefer, director of Tierra y Ser.
The collaboration between Arca Continental in Peru and Tierra y Ser reflects a commitment to the environment by promoting the recycling of usable waste and channeling resources to charitable causes. With this initiative, both organizations continue their mission to contribute to the development of Peru.
