«The good news is that only a fraction of food production would face conditions not yet seen if we collectively reduce emissions...”

-Matti Kummu

According to an Aalto University study published in One Earth, one-third of food production is likely to be affected if carbon dioxide emissions continue to grow at the current rate. The researchers assessed how climate change would affect 27 of the most important food crops and seven different types of livestock. They determined that only in 52 out of 177 countries surveyed, food production would remain in a «safe» climate space in the future.
