With the support of employees and their families, and in partnership with the NGO Vida, Arca Continental in Peru planted a total of 1,000 trees in a volunteer day that took place simultaneously in the five cities where it operates. This shows the company's commitment to caring for the environment and supporting the communities in Callao, Trujillo, Arequipa, Cusco and Iquitos.
The event was held with the collaboration of municipal authorities and local stakeholders. The meeting brought together more than 207 collaborators and family members of Arca Continental in Peru and more than 167 volunteers from local actors at national level.
"At Arca Continental, we seek to encourage our employees, family members and allies throughout the country to make a positive difference in the integral wellbeing of communities and the care of our planet," said Alberto Martos, Sustainability Manager of Arca Continental in Peru.
This volunteering event will take place in September in Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador and the United States, countries where Arca Continental operates as a bottler of The Coca-Cola Company's products.
"The 1000 plants planted in the five cities will grow and contribute to improve the quality of life of the neighboring populations, the NGO VIDA and the municipalities that contributed to this action assume the sustainability of the trees planted and we thank the company and its volunteers for the work done," said Arturo Alfaro, director of the NGO VIDA.
