Merco Companies and Leaders 2022: Pacasmayo ranks in the top 15 and leads in the cement sector

Pacasmayo consolidated its position for the seventh consecutive year as the leading company in the cement sector and climbed to 15th place in the overall ranking of the 100 companies with the best reputation in the country, according to the Merco Empresas y Líderes 2022 ranking. Humberto Nadal, CEO of the leading company in the provision of construction solutions, was recognized with the first place as leader of the sector and reached 42nd place in the ranking of leaders, 9 positions higher than in 2021.

“The results of the Merco ranking are the result of the continuous work and effort of all the members of the Pacasmayo family, who through their work every day make our purpose of Building Together the Future We Dream of a reality. I am convinced that we have not only the best talent, but also good people with good hearts, highly committed to the development of our country,” said Humberto Nadal, CEO of Pacasmayo.

The company is among the top 15 companies in Merco, a ranking that evaluates the policies and initiatives of the country's leading companies through a survey of opinion leaders, journalists and executives, highlighting the perception of reputation in different organizations. Nadal added: “Thanks to our management and business model, which always places the customer and consumers at the center, in addition to the development of talent aligned to innovation, digital transformation and our strong commitment to sustainability, Pacasmayo has managed to climb 9 places in the ranking,”

So far in 2022, the cement company has stood out for its actions in promoting sustainability and digital transformation in the sector, responding to the needs of members of the construction industry through launches such as EcoSaco, an environmentally friendly packaging for concrete mixes, and ConstruyeXperto, the largest platform for master builders in the north of the country, which is celebrating its second year of creation.

Among its achievements, it was included for the third consecutive time in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, a report that recognizes good environmental practices. Likewise, in June of this year it was recognized with the Socially Responsible Company Distinction (DESR) awarded by Sustainable Peru, standing out in the Environmental category thanks to its Carbon Neutral Strategy to 2050. Finally, this year marked ten years of being listed on the NYSE.
