Arca Continental Lindley joins Supermercados Peruanos' 'Recycle Consciously' campaign

Arca Continental Lindley joins the 'Recicla Consciente' campaign, an initiative that Supermercados Peruanos has been carrying out since 2019 with the aim of promoting a recycling culture in the country. The campaign currently has 26 strategic partners in which it seeks to promote the care of the environment and ecosystem, through the segregation of waste in plazaVea, Makro and Vivanda stores.

"Arca Continental in Peru is committed to operating a sustainable business model, generating a positive social and environmental impact. Promoting a culture of recycling is part of our circular economy approach. We congratulate Supermercados Peruanos for this initiative and invite more organizations to join us and continue promoting a world without waste", said Mariella Paredes, Director of Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability.

"At Supermercados Peruanos we are committed to creating a more sustainable and responsible environment. We are pleased to have partners like Arca Continental, who share our vision and efforts in promoting recycling and sustainability. Together, we are building a better future for the next generations," commented the representative of Supermercados Peruanos.

Arca Continental Lindley and its commitment to sustainability

Arca Continental's circular economy approach operates along three main lines: sustainable packaging design, contribution to the development of the PET bottle recovery and recycling chain, and promotion of a recycling culture through alliances.

Some examples of these three axes are: the San Luis bottle, which is the first to be made of 100% recycled material in Peru; the Recicrece program, which contributes to capacity building in recycling operating companies and intermediaries; and Inca Kola's 'Tapisoles' campaign, which promotes the consumption of returnable family containers.

Arca Continental in Peru also trains the community on environmental issues through the EcoEscuela program, reaching different schools in the country. To date, more than 7,700 students have been sensitized in Arequipa, Cusco, Lima and Iquitos.

Results of Recycle Consciously

In 2023, Recicla Consciente managed to recycle more than 114 tons of waste, raise awareness among more than 2,700 citizens through public interventions and activate 56 recycling stations in its stores nationwide.
