Ferreycorp and its companies purchase renewable and certified energy for 77% of their electricity consumption.

The corporation Ferreycorp and its companies purchased renewable energy for the fourth consecutive year, equivalent in 2023 to 77% of its national electricity consumption. As part of this, Ferreyros covered the total annual consumption in its main workshop complexes, in Lima and La Joya-Arequipa; in its Parts Distribution Center; and in its Machine Pre-delivery Workshop, among other important facilities of the group.

Coverage also included the corporate building of Ferreycorp and Ferreyros, as well as other facilities of Fargoline, Unimaq and Soltrak. Since 2020, the corporation has increased its purchase of renewable energy year by year: since then it has replaced an accumulated 6,425 tons of CO2, considering the emission factors of the Carbon Footprint Peru platform of the Ministry of the Environment (Minam).

"Our environmental strategy, which includes this significant operation, articulates our efforts to manage our carbon, water and waste footprint; the reconstruction and repair of machines and components, which promote the reuse and reduced use of resources, contributing to the circular economy, and generate efficiencies for our customers; and the continuous improvement of the portfolio of our represented brands," said Patricia Gastelumendi Lukis, corporate finance manager of Ferreycorp.

Ferreycorp and its companies received from Engie Energía Perú and SGS the renewable energy certificates covering the aforementioned locations, with the exception of La Joya- Arequipa, supplied by Grupo Enel. This energy has been generated from renewable sources and injected into the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).

In 2020, the corporation acquired renewable energy for 58% of its electricity consumption in Peru, reaching 77% in 2023.

"We believe that companies' awareness of their responsibility towards the environment generates a virtuous circle. Peruvian companies can do a lot and encourage more organizations in our value chain to make an environmental commitment," said Patricia Gastelumendi.
