Arca Continental incorporates new fleet of electric trucks to reinforce its commitment to greater efficiency and sustainability

In a context where cities face growing challenges from air pollution, noise and vehicle congestion, electric transport is emerging as a key solution. According to the consulting firm Libélula, electric trucks not only eliminate CO₂ emissions, but also significantly reduce local pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and fine particulate matter, improving air quality and respiratory health in densely populated areas. In addition, they generate much less noise and enable more efficient and safer logistics by facilitating deliveries closer to the point of sale and reducing road congestion.

In line with these benefits, and as part of its strategy to modernize logistics and adopt cleaner technologies, Arca Continental in Peru, the exclusive bottler and marketer of Coca-Cola Peru products, announced the incorporation of 39 electric trucks to its distribution chain, reinforcing its commitment to cleaner and more efficient transportation. The new fleet will be used to optimize routes in Lima, Ica, Huacho and Tacna, consolidating a larger and more sustainable operation. This incorporation represents a significant leap with respect to the first acquisition of four electric units in 2023.

"The integration of these vehicles marks a milestone in the evolution of our logistics operation. We are not only reducing COWe are also betting on technology that improves operating performance, reduces maintenance costs and allows us to move towards a quieter, more efficient and environmentally responsible distribution system," said Richard Fernandez, Technical and Supply Chain Director of Arca Continental in Peru.

The new vehicles incorporated include BAW's Car Reach model, with a load capacity of 1 ton, marketed by Motormym, a company specializing in sustainable mobility solutions. Cenntro's E Van L7 units, with a load capacity of 0.5 tons, designed to optimize urban logistics operations, have also been added.

"Our electric trucks stand out for their efficiency, low operating cost and ideal autonomy for the last mile. They incorporate long-life lithium-ferrophosphate batteries and smart technology for sustainable management. We offer integral solutions in electromobility, with charging infrastructure and responsible practices that promote cleaner logistics and a smaller carbon footprint," said Mario Remilla, general manager of Motormym Vehículos Eléctricos.

With this initiative, Arca Continental in Peru reaffirms its leadership in the incorporation of clean technologies, innovating in last-mile distribution models and moving towards an operating model that responds to the challenges of a highly changing environment, climate change and sustainability in the industry.
