Arca Continental Lindley and Tiendas Tambo launch recycling program and reward customers

Arca Continental Lindley, the exclusive bottler of the products Coca-Cola Peru, together with Tambo Stores, The company, a well-known chain of convenience stores, has joined forces in a recycling initiative that seeks to encourage responsible consumption and promote care for the environment through the segregation of PET plastic containers.

Consumers who purchase beverages in PET plastic containers will be able to participate in the recycling campaign. “Lindley Continental Ark, Uncle Tambo and you Recycle!”. To do so, they should leave their post-consumer bottles at the recycling stations of 20 selected stores, located in the districts of Barranco, La Molina, La Victoria, Los Olivos, San Borja, San Isidro, San Miguel, Santiago de Surco and Miraflores.

How to participate in the raffle?

The process to participate is simple: customers must purchase a beverage in PET plastic bottles and deposit the post-consumer bottle in the recycling garbage cans available at selected Tambo stores. Afterwards, they will be able to scan a QR code to enter the sweepstakes and have the chance to win one of the following prizes:

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Laptop
  • Lenovo Tab M10 Tablet
  • Raven RGB gaming chair
  • Smartwatch Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 ACTIVE
  • Bluetooth headsets

“In line with our sustainability strategy, at Arca Continental in Peru we focus our efforts on packaging; we work on its eco-design, we seek to promote returnability and generate alliances with different actors to promote recycling among citizens, as in this opportunity with our ally Tambo,” said Mariella Paredes, Director of Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability of Arca Continental in Peru.

This initiative is carried out in partnership with the NGO Recicla LATAM, which involves municipal authorities of the aforementioned districts, who will guarantee the correct segregation of waste together with recyclers' associations.

Alejandro Sanitz, Operations Manager of Tiendas Tambo, reaffirmed the company's commitment to protecting the environment. “This recycling initiative seeks to reduce our ecological footprint, as we firmly believe that every small action counts and that together we can make a difference.”.

Likewise, according to Fiorella Danjoy, regional director of the NGO Recicla LATAM, “the campaign aims to make citizens aware of their role in the correct segregation of waste as the starting point of the formal recycling chain. In addition, with the participation of the different municipalities, we are facing a model of shared responsibility in which government, companies and citizens work hand in hand to generate recycling habits”.”
