Fenix achieves its second Carbon Footprint star awarded by the Ministry of the Environment

The Ministry of Environment (Minam) has awarded Fenix the second star of the Peru Carbon Footprint Program, in recognition of its rigorous measurement and reporting of carbon emissions for the year 2021.

The Program Carbon Footprint is a Peruvian government tool that distinguishes companies, both in the public and private sectors, that have achieved outstanding management of their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, in order to care for and protect the environment.

In this way, the Program's evaluation system recognizes the commitment and dedication of organizations at different levels. In the case of Fenix, to obtain its first footprint, a rigorous carbon footprint report was carried out, which demonstrated that it has effectively managed the direct Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions that come from controlled sources or owned by the organization, as well as the indirect emissions that derive mainly from the consumption of electrical energy from the network.

The recognition of the second star of the Carbon Footprint Peru Program to Fenix was possible after carrying out an exhaustive external audit of the data, which allowed verifying the veracity of the calculations made by the organization, which reflect the reality of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by its operations.

It is important to highlight that Fenix, in line with the objectives of its parent company Colbún, has integrated a greater number of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) indicators in its annual corporate strategy, in order to reduce its environmental footprint, promote gender equality and improve the satisfaction of its customers, suppliers and community. In this way, the company strives to maintain its current operation in a more sustainable manner, which is complemented by growth based on renewable energy sources and an offer to supply efficient and sustainable energy solutions.
