A new milestone on the road to circularity has been set at San Miguel Industries. It is about obtaining the Clean Production Seal granted by the Ministry of the Environment to companies committed to the integrated management of solid waste in their operations and the environment.
There were seven goals assumed in the Clean Production Agreement and after a year of execution, ISM has achieved the recognition of the Ministries of Environment and Production, which ratifies ISM as a sustainable company committed to reducing, minimizing and eliminating solid waste.
The projects consisted of reducing the use of plastics in product packaging and palletizing, reducing the weight of plastic containers, using 100 percent recyclable bottles for the energizer brand, partnering with recyclers' associations and six municipalities.
Also, the implementation of the green warehouse program in Huacho and Arequipa, the development of Recyclathon campaigns, the organization of the Neighborhood Art contest, and the broadcasting of the Generation R program, among others.
“The clean production seal represents the commitment that the entire organization has made to manage circular operations. This great step places us as one of the country's benchmark companies,” said Cintya Añaños Alcázar, ISM's General Manager in Peru and Chile.
