Toyota del Perú will implement a renewal plan for its dealer network

Toyota del Peru continues to strengthen its strategy to support the development of the automotive sector in the country.

In a recent interview with Gestión Newspaper, its spokesman David Caro, Corporate Affairs Manager, highlighted how the company has been promoting the offer of hybrid vehicles and renewing its dealer network to respond to new mobility needs.

Some key points that were shared:

  • In 2025, electrified vehicles accounted for 10% of the brand's sales, reflecting the growing interest of Peruvian customers in more efficient technologies.
  • For 2026, the expectation is to maintain the upward pace, with a projected 40,000 units marketed, which would represent a growth of 8% over the previous year.

With these actions, the company reaffirms its commitment to a more sustainable, practical and accessible mobility for its customers and partners.

The expectation for 2026 is to maintain the upward trend that has been occurring this year. The company expects to place 40,000 units, which would represent a growth of 8% over the previous year and consolidate a market share of 20%. In this projection, the protagonists will be electrified vehicles, its best-selling model, the Hilux, and entry-level SUVs.

Toyota del Perú adjusts its sales projections for 2026 in a context of recovery of the automotive market. The automaker foresees changes in its portfolio and commercial structure, in line with electrification trends and sustained growth in demand. In addition, it plans to transform its dealer network and open new dealerships nationwide as part of its strategy for the coming years.
David Caro, the company's Corporate Affairs Manager, indicated that in order to strengthen its presence and improve customer service, it will implement a renovation plan for its 30 dealerships nationwide by 2026.

“We are already working on transforming our customers” experience by digitalizing and improving the infrastructure of our concessionaires. We have started at some points, and we will soon announce how many will be intervened and the level of investment involved," said the executive.
As part of this strategy, the automaker will also analyze opening new branches. “We are constantly evaluating new opportunities. This year, for example, we opened a dealership in Moquegua, where we previously had no presence. I cannot yet give details about the next locations, but we can confirm that we will work on expanding our dealer network, not only in 2026, but also in the next two or three years,” he said.

Projections to 2026
The expectation for 2026 is to maintain the upward trend. The company expects to place 40,000 units, which would represent a growth of 8% over the previous year and consolidate a market share of 20%. In this projection, the protagonists will be electrified vehicles, its best-selling model, the Hilux, and entry-level SUVs. By 2025, the company will exceed 38,500 units sold, with more than 3,500 corresponding to electrified vehicles, representing a market share of close to 35% in this segment.

“We expected a smaller market, similar to last year (between 160,000 and 165,000 units placed), but now we are projecting more than 185,000. Private investment has boosted demand for commercial vehicles and the exchange rate has also been favorable. In this environment, our focus has been to consolidate our sales positioning,” he said.

Hybrid sales
Looking to the medium term, the Japanese brand has a clear commitment to sustainable mobility. By 2030, Toyota del Perú had estimated that at least 20% of its sales will correspond to electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug-in hybrids and 100% electric). However, the current progress could exceed that goal. “This year we already reached 10% of sales with hybrid vehicles and we could reach 25% ahead of schedule, but there are still challenges. We need availability of electrified versions in all models, especially in the entry lines such as Raize, Rush and Avanza, where mechanical transmissions predominate,” the executive explained. “We are considering that, in the future, perhaps we should focus solely on selling hybrids, because their share of our sales is already considerable,” he added.

This leap is in response to the fact that the models offered by the company in the country already have hybrid or electrified versions. “Every year we will incorporate electrified versions in at least one model, and from 2026 we will also add plug-in hybrid and electric 100% options,” he said.
