With an investment of S/ 21 million, Ferreyros completed an important work for taxes in the district of Colquepata, province of Paucartambo, Cusco, which benefits more than 2,000 inhabitants with quality drinking water and an efficient sanitation service. In the Cusco region, this is the third project completed by the company under this mechanism.
“We are proud that this work is already a reality, to improve the quality of life in Colquepata, at more than 3,600 meters above sea level. We reiterate our commitment to the Works for Taxes, through the financing and execution of 11 projects nationwide, for S/ 105 million, which have a positive impact on more than 34,000 Peruvians”, said Patricia Gastelumendi, Corporate Finance Manager for Ferreycorp.
Vicente Aro, district mayor of Colquepata, and the Ferreycorp representative inspected the work, whose execution has made it possible to expand and improve the district's drinking water and sewerage system, as well as to build for the first time a wastewater treatment plant in this locality. As part of the work, three water reservoirs were built; drinking water and sewage connections were installed and renewed; and more than 7,000 meters of water conduction lines, 9,000 meters of distribution networks and more than 11,000 meters of sewage collection networks were laid. The population was trained in sanitation education; the operator was strengthened with the delivery of equipment for system maintenance and training; and environmental impact mitigation actions were carried out.
Works to provide water and sanitation
The project completed in Colquepata is part of the six water and sanitation Works for Taxes financed and executed by Ferreyros in the regions of Pasco, Junín and Cusco, benefiting close to 20,000 Peruvians.
As part of this project, Ferreyros is carrying out a water and sewage works in Urubamba, Cusco, in consortium with the company Backus.
Educational infrastructure
Likewise, Ferreycorp companies have been financing and executing educational infrastructure Works for Taxes in favor of 14,000 children and young people. Four of them have already been completed in La Libertad and Ica, while the fifth one is in progress in Ucayali. This is the improvement and expansion of the Juana Alarco de Dammert kindergarten school No. 283, which Ferreyros is executing, in consortium with Orvisa, in Coronel Portillo, Pucallpa.
