ENGIE closes purchase of wind power plants and projects totaling 76.8 MW in Cajamarca

  • With this acquisition, ENGIE Energía Perú increases its capacity in renewable energy operation to more than 600 MW and diversifies its geographic presence in the country.

  • Currently, the company has a renewable projects portfolio - between solar and wind - in different stages of development for up to 1,200 MW.

 

ENGIE Energy Peru, one of the largest electricity generators in Peru, completed the purchase process with Grenergy Renewables of the companies owning two (2) Wind Power Plants in operation: Duna (18.4MW) and Huambos (18.4MW) and two (2) wind projects. greenfieldNaira I (20MW) and Naira II (20MW), after receiving the acquisition operation authorization from the Commission for the Defense of Free Competition of Indecopi, through Resolution 071-2014/CLC-INDECOPI on March 12 of this year. 

With this acquisition, ENGIE Energía Perú increases its installed capacity in renewable energy operation to more than 600 MW; in addition to expanding its portfolio of future renewable projects and its geographic diversification in Peru.

Wind projects greenfield Naira I and Naira II for a total of 40MW, will be added to the company's current renewable projects portfolio of around 1,200 MW, including wind and solar, currently in different stages of development.
