In line with its purpose of actively contributing to a greener and more inclusive economy, BBVA<\/a> in Peru awarded Montana S.A.<\/a>. factoring certification linked to sustainability, with a line of S\/. 7 million. This initiative will enable the agribusiness company to promote better environmental and social practices among its suppliers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This certification\u00a0is part of the portfolio of sustainable solutions that BBVA offers to its corporate clients.<\/strong>and recognizes its efforts to incorporate ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria into its operations.<\/p>

Montana S.A. has demonstrated verifiable advances in operational sustainability, such as the replacement of diesel forklifts with electric forklifts, the complete changeover to LED lighting in the plants, and internal training programs on sustainability.<\/p>

Carlos Ortega, BBVA's corporate and investment banker in Peru, noted that \"this operation reflects BBVA's firm commitment to the development of sustainable financial solutions. Working with companies like this\u00a0is key to building a productive system aligned with the country's climate and social challenges.<\/strong>\".<\/p>

BBVA's evaluation process to grant this certification considered compliance with demanding standards based on ESG criteria. The company was recognized for its green finance strategy, which prioritizes carbon footprint reduction, the development of low-impact biopesticides and the circular economy.<\/p>

As part of this operation, Montana S.A.'s suppliers must have ISO 14001 certification -which guarantees an effective environmental management system- or may be evaluated through an ESG questionnaire designed by BBVA, which measures the level of compliance in key sustainability aspects.<\/p>

This effort is aligned with the\u00a0BBVA's General Sustainability Policy in Peru<\/strong>. This\u00a0promotes the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria in all its financial activities,<\/strong>\u00a0700 billion in sustainable financing between 2025 and 2029.<\/p>
