Lima Express<\/a> officially submitted for approval by the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML) an action plan to reduce traffic congestion and give a much-needed boost to mobility on its roads: the Via de Evitamiento and the Linea Amarilla expressway. The plan, which is now ready for implementation, proposes ten road infrastructure projects, including expanding the capacity of existing tolls to reduce waiting times, accelerating the use of digital payment, improving road access for better vehicular flow, optimizing bus stops to improve public transportation, and building a new viaduct, in coordination with the MML.<\/p>

The plan represents an investment of US$100 million, privately financed by Lima Expresa. It is the largest investment made by Lima Expresa since the delivery of the Linea Amarilla expressway in 2018. After obtaining municipal approval, Lima Expresa would immediately begin execution of the plan and initial improvements would be delivered in the shortest possible time, based on international experience and support from VINCI Highways.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The improvements will ensure faster mobility for the citizens of Lima who drive on Lima Expresa roads every day, saving them more than 7 million hours a year*. It will also improve the access road to the soon-to-be-inaugurated new airport and help prepare Peru's capital city for the 2027 Pan American Games, which will host more than 9,000 athletes from 41 American countries.<\/p>

Lima Expresa's proposal to MML marks a new step in its unwavering commitment to bring VINCI Highways' innovations and investments to Lima. This year alone, Lima Expresa became the first operator in Peru to develop fully automated toll booths and incorporate AI into its operations.<\/p>

Raul Diaz Diaz, general manager of Lima Expresa, stated:\u00a0\"Given that the MML seeks to ensure that Lima has a better road infrastructure for citizens and the economy, our plan seeks to contribute in that regard. This is one of the greatest available and immediate opportunities to decongest the city, using private money, existing equipment and technology to fulfill our purpose, to make Lima a more connected and sustainable city. We are ready to move forward.<\/em><\/p>

The ten road infrastructure projects:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Toll extensions<\/strong><\/p>

  • Monterrico Toll (north and southbound),<\/li>
  • Hu\u00e1nuco Toll<\/li>
  • Prial\u00e9 Toll<\/li><\/ul>

    Relocation and expansion of key bus stops:<\/strong><\/p>

    • New Bridge (southbound)<\/li>
    • New Bridge (northbound)<\/li>
    • Javier Prado (northbound)<\/li>
    • Caquet\u00e1 (northbound)<\/li>
    • Acho (southbound)<\/li><\/ul>

      Improvement of infrastructure at strategic points<\/strong><\/p>

      • Construction of the Quechuaas viaduct, which should be co-financed with State funds, in coordination with the MML.<\/li>
