Toyota del Peru<\/a>a pioneer in the introduction of electrified technologies in the country, is the first automotive company that, after having achieved the third star in 2022 corresponding to the reduction of its footprint, has been awarded the fourth star of the Carbon Footprint Peru<\/a> from the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) for its 2023 measurement. This recognition validates that, for the second consecutive year, the company has maintained the reduction of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.<\/span><\/p>

\"We are deeply grateful for this recognition, which encourages us to continue working in favor of decarbonization. For 15 years we have been working on the diversification of electrified technologies, and we believe that, in the Peruvian context, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and natural gas vehicles are the best options to accelerate this process,\" said Stephanie Guerra, Corporate Affairs & ESG specialist at Toyota del Per\u00fa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This measurement covered the calculation of the carbon footprint throughout the entire life cycle of the vehicles, including Scope 3, which considers emissions in the use of the vehicle. Subsequently, the measurement was verified by an external entity, which allowed us to develop effective reduction plans and obtain this recognition.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

After verifying the reduction of its carbon footprint for two consecutive years, MINAM awarded the fourth star to Toyota del Per\u00fa. \"Contributing to national emission reduction targets is a priority for us. This commitment is key to achieving a cleaner future, and we encourage more companies to join us in this mission,\" noted Guerra.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Toyota del Per\u00fa will continue to strengthen its technology diversification strategy, focusing mainly on hybrid electric vehicles. By 2030, the company plans to market 8,000 electrified vehicles, of which an estimated 96% will be hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).<\/span><\/p>

The brand's commitment to sustainability does not end here. Toyota del Per\u00fa will continue working on the promotion of the circular economy and research on green hydrogen, through its partnership with the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Per\u00fa (PUCP). This effort is aligned with the company's commitment to continue introducing mobility solutions that are sustainable, practical and accessible to our country.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

About Carbon Footprint Peru<\/b><\/p>

The Carbon Footprint Peru program was launched in 2019 and to date has more than 300 organizations that have reported their GHG emissions management. This platform seeks to contribute to the national goal of reducing GHG emissions by 40% by 2030, with the objective of keeping the global temperature increase below 1.5\u00b0C compared to pre-industrial levels.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
