In a world where the urgency of decarbonization is becoming more and more evident, it is necessary to deploy several <\/b><\/em>solutions and technologies<\/em><\/strong> at the same time<\/b> to accelerate the transition to a <\/em>low carbon economy.<\/em><\/strong> Leading companies are using complementary technologies to reduce their emissions, manage climate risks and generate opportunities in this new context, among them Engie, Toyota, Microsoft and Salesforce, who were part of <\/em>nexos+1 Forum Latam 2024.<\/em><\/strong>  <\/em><\/p>\n

During the panel \"Accelerating Decarbonization\", Jos\u00e9 Monz\u00f3n, Engie's Commercial Manager, highlighted the coexistence of energy sources such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and natural gas <\/strong>in the energy transition. On the other hand, David Caro, Manager of Corporate Affairs & ESG of Toyota del Per\u00fa, emphasized the importance of adapt technologies to the specific realities of each country,<\/strong> such as the prevalence of ethanol fuel in Brazil compared to natural gas in Peru. In this context, technology plays a key role<\/strong> as a catalyst for transformation toward sustainability. Monz\u00f3n highlighted the crucial role of batteries as a complementary technology<\/strong> for the deployment of renewable energies. <\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda Paula Duque, Microsoft Sustainability Leader <\/strong>for Latin America, highlighted the transformative power of technology<\/strong> in the fight against climate change and the preservation of natural ecosystems. He commented on the launch of the initiative <\/strong>NaturaTech LAC<\/strong><\/a> to the IDB, where they presented innovative technological solutions <\/strong>designed to accelerate decarbonization and regenerate natural ecosystems, such as emissions dashboards and environmental and social management platforms, along with artificial intelligence tools that provide insights <\/em>valuable real-time data to optimize business decision making. His approach emphasized the importance of collaboration between sectors and the adoption of advanced technologies<\/strong> to face environmental challenges with determination and efficiency. <\/p>\n

David Caro also emphasized the need for collaboration between companies and governments to achieve systemic decarbonization goals<\/strong>Toyota has contributed to the development of the National Electromobility Plan in Peru.<\/p>\n

Tim Christophersen, VP of Climate Action at Salesforce, shared perspectives on integrating nature management into corporate climate action. \"Nature is under a lot of pressure and that is starting to impact the financial health of companies. All our value chains are connected to nature.\"<\/strong>. <\/strong>He emphasized the importance of addressing the climate and nature crisis together, noting that the nature-based climate solutions generate multiple impacts,<\/strong> In conclusion, the integration of different technologies and solutions is not only essential to accelerate decarbonization, but also to promote the conservation and restoration of nature and ensure the long-term viability of our business operations. In this context, business leadership in innovating, promoting and scaling different solutions are fundamental <\/strong>to address the climate polycrisis and loss of natural ecosystems facing our society.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
