Arca Continental, one of the world's leading bottlers of <\/span>Coca-Cola, with operations in Peru through Arca Continental Lindley, announces that its 2030 targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its value chain have been validated by the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative, a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the World Wildlife Fund (WRI and WWF, respectively).<\/span><\/p>

As part of its commitment to building a sustainable future and joining efforts to mitigate climate change, Arca Continental operates a sustainable business model with its own Carbon Footprint Reduction Plan consisting of three lines of action:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  1. The <\/span>promoting operational efficiency<\/b>, by implementing sustainable practices and optimizing systems. For example, Arca Continental Lindley was the first company in Latin America to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold and Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its Trujillo and Pucusana plants.

    <\/span><\/li>
  2. The incorporation of new technologies<\/b> that promote the use of innovative solutions and greater energy efficiency. For example, Arca Continental Lindley received in 2022 the first International Renewable Energy Standard (I-REC Standard) certificate, the first one awarded by Enel in Peru, for the use of 100% renewable energy.

  3. The involvement of different stakeholders in your value chain<\/b> with the intention of becoming allies to achieve joint goals. For example, the company works together with its traditional channel customers to renew the cooling equipment for intelligent devices that detect movement and save energy at rest times.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

By being part of this initiative and having the validation of our goals to comply with the Paris Agreement, we boost the competitiveness of our industry and promote best practices for building a low-carbon economy,\u201d said Alejandro Molina, Arca Continental's Chief Technical and Supply Chain Officer.<\/span><\/p>

    The company relies on science to define the direction of its actions, thereby adopting innovative solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions throughout its value chain, from the supply of ingredients and packaging for the production of the products in its portfolio, to their distribution and refrigeration.<\/span><\/p>
