Sodexo Peru, leader in the integral management of sustainable collective food services and Facility Management, announces the preventive measures it will take to reduce the impact of the El Ni\u00f1o Phenomenon, whose effects may interrupt the food supply in the main mining operations throughout the country.<\/p>

Among the scenarios contemplated by the company are the collapse of transportation routes, food shortages and insect infestations. To face this scenario, the company has already established 18 alternative routes to ensure that food service can reach more than 35 thousand people in the mining operations, especially in the north of the country.<\/p>

In addition, in a joint effort with its suppliers, Sodexo has activated an action plan, such as increasing the stock of products with long expiration dates and replacing food that will suffer shortages.<\/p>

Another of the measures already established is the strengthening of the Distribution Centers, which are located in the main departments of the country to supply all operations in the national territory. Actions have been established such as the construction of drains and gutters, reinforcement of infrastructure, activation of pest controls and reinforcement of disinfestation plans.<\/p>

In case of emergency, Sodexo has a stock of food for up to 45 days and has also designed three types of menus that would be activated in the event of a disaster.<\/p>

It is worth mentioning that in previous natural phenomena that occurred in the country such as the Yaku cyclone at the beginning of the year or the El Ni\u00f1o Phenomenon in 2017, Sodexo has provided assistance to vulnerable populations, by distributing food rations through its logistics chains.<\/p>
