While the emissions carbon dioxide emissions<\/strong> energy-related emissions will reach 36.3 billion tons by 2021, according to the International Energy Agency<\/strong>Today, more and more companies in the electricity sector are seeking to reduce their carbon emissions and establish carbon neutrality commitments in the short and medium term.<\/p><\/div>

As a result, Celepsa, an electric power generation company, became the first generator of electricity in the country. electricity sector<\/strong> in Peru in neutralizing its corporate carbon footprint. This has earned them the \"Carbon Neutrality Certification\".<\/strong> from Aenor<\/strong> which supports the offsetting of 100% of its administrative and operational emissions for the 2021 period.<\/p>

\"Since our inception, we have been one of the main actors in the combating the effects of climate change<\/strong> in the country by generating andnergy 100% renewable and clean energy<\/strong>. In this line, it is known worldwide that one of the greatest milestones for committed companies<\/strong> in the fight against climate change, is to become carbon neutral.<\/strong> This 2022 we can say that, reaffirming our purpose, we have achieved it,\" he said. The Aenor (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification) certification is based on the methodology PAS 2060,<\/strong> which verifies the correct calculation of emissions, evaluates carbon footprint management processes and validates reduction commitments and actions within companies.<\/strong><\/div>

Celepsa received the definitive concession to build its \"Solimana Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant\" in Arequipa.<\/b><\/p><\/div>

Continuing with its purpose of\u00a0accelerating decarbonization<\/strong>\u00a0In the country, Celepsa received the definitive concession from the Ministry of Energy and Mines to develop the energy generation activity at its Solimana Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant.<\/p><\/div>

This plant will have a 250 MW power<\/strong> and will be located in the district of Oco\u00f1a, Caman\u00e1, in Arequipa. The project is connected to the SEIN through the Oco\u00f1a Substation and a transmission line of approximately 31 kilometers, contemplating an investment of approximately US$226 million for its construction.<\/p><\/div>

With the concession obtained, Celepsa expects to begin coordinating with suppliers and seeking financing in order to proceed with the construction of the project as soon as possible.<\/p>

\"We estimate that our plant will be operational by December 2025. The photovoltaic plant will be one of the largest and most important solar power plants in the south of the country, with approximately 434,112 solar panels. Due to its size and the ambition of this project, we have chosen Arequipa because it is a department with great potential for sustainable energy generation\", concluded Celepsa's General Manager.<\/em><\/p><\/div>
