    Lima, November 2022.<\/strong> Toyota del Per\u00fa presented for the first time in Peru the event \u201cTechnologies for sustainable mobility\u201d, a series of presentations aimed at sharing the company's approach to reduce CO2 emissions from mobility and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It also aims to promote the growth of sustainable mobility in the country.<\/p>

    The presentation showcased the four electrified technologies developed by Toyota that reduce fuel consumption and footprint compared to traditional combustion engines: electric hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery electric and hydrogen-powered electric.<\/p>

    The electrified technologies presented were:<\/strong><\/p>

    • Hybrids: HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) Corolla Hybrid HEV, Corolla Cross Flex (HEV FFV)<\/li>
    • Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle: PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle)<\/li>
    • Electric: Lexus UX 300e BEV (Battery Electic Vehicle: Battery Electric Vehicle)<\/li>
    • Hydrogen: Mirai FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle - Hydrogen)<\/li><\/ul>

      Global warming is one of the greatest challenges for humanity in the 21st century. Climate change has brought with it high economic and social costs, and Peru, as a biodiverse country, has suffered its adverse effects. In the last 100 years there has been an increase in surface, land and sea temperatures, bringing us close to the dangerous limit of 1.5 degrees of global warming.<\/p>

      Toyota is committed to sustainability and achieving carbon neutrality, and is constantly seeking to reduce its impact throughout the life cycle of its products to address climate change, including the entire life cycle of its vehicles: from materials sourcing and manufacturing to recycling and disposal.
      As part of the company's strategy for this challenge is to offer a variety of electrified technology options to meet this challenge.<\/p>

      The advantages of each depend on the needs of the clients and the context of each country.
      64% of primary energy in Peru comes from renewable sources (MINEM 2021). According to the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP), there are only 33 charging stations with 56 connectors of which 4 stations are fast charging stations. \u201cAt Toyota we believe that the transitional technology to expand and achieve electrification in Peru is hybrid vehicles. It is the most practical solution while we work together in the infrastructure and expansion of other electrified technologies,\u201d said Caro.<\/p>

      Technologies for sustainable mobility<\/strong><\/p>

      Toyota del Per\u00fa aimed to reach all audiences to generate discussion and share its experience and proposed technologies for Peru. The presentations \u201cTechnologies for sustainable mobility\u201d<\/strong> Toyota's exhibition began with a tour of four important educational institutions such as the Universidad Nacional de Ingenier\u00eda (UNI), Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Per\u00fa (PUCP), Universidad de Ingenier\u00eda y Tecnolog\u00eda (UTEC) and the vocational training center SENATI, with the participation of a total of more than 1,000 students from engineering and automotive careers. Authorities, institutions and companies from the sector also participated in the exhibition, which was held at the Las Palmas air base in Surco.<\/p>

      These presentations are led by David Caro, Public Relations and Business Transformation Manager of Toyota del Peru and Joel Castillo, Assistant Manager of Planning & Product of Toyota del Peru, who shared the company's vision of sustainability in the automotive sector and presented the advances in electrified technologies developed by the brand to reduce CO2 emissions to move towards sustainable mobility.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

      Toyota, pioneer and leader in electrified vehicles<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Toyota was a pioneer in the development of electrified vehicles globally. In 1997 it introduced the first commercial hybrid in history, Toyota Prius, which in 2009 would become the first hybrid in Latin America. In 2019, Corolla Hybrid was introduced, the first vehicle manufactured in the region, at Toyota's plant in Indaiatuba, Brazil.<\/p>\n

      Toyota's fundamental objective is to be a sustainable 100% company, which is why it is fully committed to electrification. The brand leads the hybrid market globally.
      Today it has 63 electrified models and 20 million units sold worldwide. Thanks to this production, since 1997, the brand has managed to reduce 160 million tons of CO2, which means 1.5 million conventional vehicles each year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
