But it runs the risk of overheating very soon. The IPCC concludes in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/report\/ar6\/wg1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent report<\/a> that continued greenhouse gas emissions could exceed the global temperature limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius in as little as a decade.<\/p><p>\u201cThe <strong>climate change<\/strong> dangerous - no longer that futuristic idea of potential impacts - that brings fires and heat waves, affecting lives, infrastructure and ecosystems,<strong> is already here<\/strong>\u201d, he assures <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/pia-zevallos-labarthe-31a5138\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pia Zevallos<\/strong><\/a>, founding partner of <a href=\"https:\/\/libelula.com.pe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dragonfly<\/a> and director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.proyectoapoyocambioclimatico.pe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Climate Change Management Support Project<\/a>.<\/p><p>Because the time to act is so short, Zevallos believes the world needs drastic changes. \u201cCompanies have started very well by measuring their <a href=\"https:\/\/libelula.com.pe\/servicios\/huella-de-carbono-y-gestion-de-emisiones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carbon footprint<\/a> and try to reduce it. But these are marginal improvements,\u201d she says. The specialist argues that the private sector needs, rather, to deploy processes of <strong>innovation<\/strong> to solve the problem of climate change.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bdb8b8a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"bdb8b8a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What can companies do?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-536a5e7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"536a5e7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The world needs to reduce emissions by about half by 2030 and it needs to have <strong>net zero emissions by 2050<\/strong> not to exceed the threshold of 1.5 degrees Celsius.<\/p><p>Zevallos suggests that companies consider, for example, the following measures to address climate change:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Promote and use renewable energies<\/strong> (wind, hydro, solar). Companies can make direct contracts with renewable energy generators.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>To progressively and permanently adopt decentralized work.<\/strong> (having a workspace closer to home) to reduce fuel use.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Opting for circular business models<\/strong> generating as little waste as possible.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Thinking about regenerative agriculture<\/strong> and in the sustainable management of Amazonian forests.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Focusing on hybrid vehicles<\/strong> and, eventually, electric cars.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In order to implement some of these measures, we must first have a deep understanding of those who would be affected and create solutions for them as well -as would be the case, for example, in the transportation sector with the implementation of decentralized work-, so as not to harm the economic reactivation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-961073c elementor-button-success elementor-align-center elementor-widget
