The international consulting firm Deloitte, with the support of Enel and the participation of various public and private entities, presented the <\/span>\"Energy Transition Roadmap\".<\/b>The study proposes an economically profitable path that the Peruvian government could follow to meet its emissions reduction target by 2050. It should be noted that the study was developed in a participatory manner, through three workshops with about 70 participants each.<\/span><\/p>

The net economic benefit that Peru could obtain from implementing the measures proposed in the study would be USD 205 billion by 2050<\/strong>This would represent an increase in GDP of 2.7%, compared to a scenario in which this type of measures are not adopted. According to the study, the investment required to achieve this amounts to USD 103.4 billion.<\/span><\/p>

\"The transition to a sustainable economy based on low-carbon technologies is a crucial issue because of its environmental and economic impact. For this reason, we have promoted this study that demonstrates that implementing appropriate policies to address climate change generates economic benefits for the country. In this line, we seek to bring together the efforts of the main productive sectors of the country around a single long-term objective: to have a carbon neutral economy\".<\/span><\/i>he pointed out <\/span>Marco Fragale<\/b>, <\/span>Country Manager of Enel Peru<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>

The Roadmap has identified the following as the main levers for reducing emissions: i) more efficient use of energy and electrification of end uses, especially electrification of public and private transportation; ii) greater presence of renewable energies in Peru's energy matrix; and iii) development of sustainable production models in all of the country's productive sectors. If we follow this path, there is a possibility of generating 600 thousand net jobs by 2030<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>

According to the study, accelerating the energy transition will improve Peru's competitiveness, making it attractive for new investments seeking countries with clear greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction policies and for entering into trade agreements with regional organizations such as the OECD, European Union or Pacific Alliance.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
