Next week we will hold the 8th edition of our highly anticipated business conference on climate action, nexos+1: Latam 2023 Forum. Under the motto "Business evolution in the climate era", the event will focus on the new demands, opportunities and roles of companies in the context of the climate crisis.
The conclusion of the Paris Agreement eight years ago put the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to keep our planet at 1.5°C on the business agenda. At the end of 2022, 196 countries concluded another historic agreement, this time in favor of biodiversity and natural ecosystems, with the goals of protecting and conserving at least 30% of the planet's land and oceans, and restoring another 30% of degraded ecosystems by 2030.
If you don't know or don't manage the impact of your operations on nature, it's time to do so.
The document synthesizes and updates the state of the main themes of the climate negotiations following the events in Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) and on the road to COP28 to be held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
Some of the topics addressed are: loss and damage, biodiversity, methane, energy transition, oceans, NDC, finance, youth movements, artificial intelligence, action plan of the early warning initiative, and
Escazú Agreement.
