Sustainability is the result of responsible decisions, strategic partnerships, and actions that generate long-term value. In this vein, Arca Continental Lindley presented his 2025 Sustainability Report, a document that outlines the company's major achievements in the area of environmental, social, and governance over the past year.

In the environmental sphere, the company succeeded in reduce its water consumption per liter by 5.2% of beverage produced, dropping from 1.73 to 1.64 liters of water per liter of beverage. Likewise, the 91% Electrical Power used in four of its six plants came from renewable energy sources, strengthening its climate action strategy.

The circular economy It was also one of the key focuses of his tenure. During 2025, Arca Continental Lindley avoided the use of 307 metric tons of virgin resin thanks to packaging lightweighting projects and far exceeded the requirements set forth in Peruvian regulations regarding the use of recycled PET in its bottles. In addition, the initiatives promoted by the company contributed to recycle more than 15,000 metric tons of PET plastic.

These results are part of a strategy based on three pillars: Positive Social Impact, Environmental Leadership, and Transformational Partnerships, through which the company seeks to create shared value and contribute to the country's sustainable development.

IFC otorga financiamiento sostenible por US$250 millones al BCP

The funds will be used to promote financing for green buildings, sustainable agriculture, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those led by women in Peru.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, provided sustainable financing of US$250 million to the Banco de Crédito de Perú (BCP), with the aim of promoting financing for green buildings, sustainable agriculture, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those led by women in Peru.

The funds will be used to finance sustainable construction projects that hold international certifications such as EDGE or LEED. They will also focus on initiatives related to climate-resilient agriculture and strengthening access to credit for small and medium-sized enterprises, which are considered key sectors for the country’s economic development and job creation.

“This transaction will allow us to continue strengthening our sustainability strategy by promoting projects that generate economic value and, at the same time, have a positive socio-environmental impact, with a special emphasis on sectors that are key to job creation and development in our country,” said Diego Cavero, CEO of BCP.

It is worth noting that the investment is backed by an incentive under IFC’s Market Accelerator for Green Construction (MAGC), a blended finance program supported by the United Kingdom through the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. MAGC aims to scale up green construction in emerging markets by incentivizing financial intermediaries to offer or expand financing products for sustainable construction.

Preparing for El Niño 2026 is an opportunity to create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and ensure business continuity.

El Niño is a structural and predictable risk that climate scenarios for the 2026–2027 period have once again placed on companies’ risk management agendas. ENFEN, SENAMHI, and NOAA continuously monitor the Pacific and agree on the need to strengthen preparedness for extreme events. For companies, the current challenge is to turn this preparedness into an opportunity to strengthen the country’s economic resilience.

Peru knows the cost of being unprepared. The 1997–1998 El Niño caused losses exceeding US $3,200 million (CAF), while the 2017 Coastal El Niño caused damage amounting to US $3,124 million (Macroconsult), affecting infrastructure, productive activities, and thousands of businesses.

However, viewing these events solely as losses is a strategic mistake. Prevention can become a tool for job creation and regional development. Programs such as Llamkasun Perú and other prevention initiatives mobilize the local workforce and stimulate regional economies. According to estimates from the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), for every S/ 100 million invested, between 1,500 and 2,000 direct temporary jobs are created. With larger-scale investment, the potential could reach between 40,000 and 60,000 jobs in the most vulnerable regions.

The true value of these jobs lies in the skills they build. With certification of their competencies, workers re-enter the job market with skills that are transferable to various productive sectors. Thus, prevention ceases to be an expense and becomes an investment in human capital.

For companies, this agenda is a business decision. In sectors such as mining, energy, and agribusiness, water availability and logistics connectivity are critical factors. A blocked highway or a flood results in cost overruns and lost productivity. Being prepared is a strategy to protect investments and ensure operational continuity.

The vulnerability is even greater for micro and small enterprises (Mypes), which account for more than 99% of the country’s businesses (PRODUCE and INEI). According to estimates from the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) and the Peruvian Federation of Municipal Savings and Credit Unions (FEPCMAC), a small business affected by flooding or service disruptions can lose between 40% and 60% of its monthly working capital in just one week. Strengthening prevention measures means protecting suppliers, jobs, and local economies.

Solutions must be tailored to the local geography. While in the north the priority is on drainage and riverbank protection, in regions such as Puno, Cusco, and Junín the focus should be on reservoirs and water conservation measures to address water stress.

Resilience cannot be improvised during an emergency; it is built with a long-term vision. Investing in prevention is now a strategy capable of transforming climate risks into jobs, capabilities, and operational continuity. The question for companies is no longer whether they should prepare for a more uncertain future, but rather who will lead the resilience agenda that will define Peru’s competitiveness in the coming years.

Implementing health, wellness and diversity plans strengthens the work climate and reduces turnover. A human approach, which takes care of people and not just the planet, aligns with the social dimension of ESG.

4. Improve profitability with innovation

The relationship between sustainability and profitability is well documented: companies that implement good sustainability practices achieve 11% higher results than their competitors (RUE Magazine, 2025). In addition, the transition to circular models and the rise of AI leverages sustainability as an efficiency driver, reduces operating costs related to energy and raw materials, and strengthens responsiveness to external shocks.

5. Define a clear and measurable roadmap.

Taking action requires method. Peru ranks among the top three countries in the 2026 GREEN AWARDS Top 500 Projects Ranking.

Peru is part of the Ranking of the Top 500 Projects for the 2026 Green Awards with 72 selected initiatives, ranking among the top three countries with the strongest presence in this year's edition. This selection brings together projects from 21 countries y 243 cities, and helps identify socio-environmental solutions that are moving forward within the regional Green Awards process.

Peru's participation reflects a diverse agenda: initiatives related to the circular economy, human development, agriculture, ecosystem conservation, freshwater, technology, resilient cities, finance, and energy.

“The 500 Best Projects is not just a ranking; it is a snapshot of the Americas. In them, we can see the region’s environmental and social priorities, but also the responses that are already emerging from the local communities. Peru has a significant presence in this selection, with initiatives that reflect innovation, impact, and concrete action from different sectors, cities, and communities,” he noted Gustavo Manrique, President of the Green Awards.

Peru's geographical coverage in the ranking includes 23 cities; equivalent to 16 projects in the circular economy, 14 in Human Development, 11 in Agriculture and Food Production, 9 in Terrestrial Ecosystems, 7 in Resilient Cities and Communities, 6 in Agua Dulce, 5 in Green Tech, 3 in Finance y 1 in Energy.

Among the projects featured in the ranking published in www.premiosverdes.org Peruvian initiatives such as Stay Warm, Peru, in Human Development; Fall in love with the Yellow-tailed Choro Monkey, in Terrestrial Ecosystems; AgricApp, Inc., in Agriculture and Food Production; Feeding with Hope, from Banco de Alimentos Perú; AQUARESTAURA, aimed at restoring water-regulating ecosystems; BIOBOOST, in Terrestrial Ecosystems; Biomyco y BIOPLANT, in Agriculture and Food Production; as well as Cities That Breathe, focusing on urban micro-forests for climate adaptation and social integration. These examples are highlighted in the list and are part of a broader selection of Peruvian projects.

The largest concentration of Peruvian projects is found in Circular Economy, a category that brings together initiatives related to new production models, responsible consumption, resource efficiency, and waste reduction. Also noteworthy are Human Development y Agriculture and Food Production, areas that highlight solutions related to social inclusion, food security, production models, and community impact.

The projects included in the Top 500 Projects Ranking will receive the Official Seal of the Top 500 from Premios Verdes, a logo they may use in their institutional communications, website, promotional materials, products, or services. This recognition confirms their inclusion in the regional selection and enhances their visibility among communities, partners, the media, institutions, and investors.

As part of World Recycling Day, NGR participated in a beach cleanup at Márquez Beach in Callao, Peru, as a partner in the initiative Recycle Consciously, reaffirming its commitment to protecting marine ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices.

The event brought together more than 20 partner companies and allowed withdraw more than two tons of solid waste in the coastal area, contributing to environmental conservation and raising awareness about the importance of proper waste management.

As part of its environmental commitment, NGR continues to promote initiatives aimed at encouraging proper waste sorting, reducing single-use plastics, and fostering sustainable habits among its employees and stakeholders.

ECOS: La estrategia que transforma la gestión de residuos en valor social y ambiental

An urban challenge that calls for new responses

Thousands of people cross the aisles of offices and shopping malls every day, and behind each day there is waste that often goes unnoticed. However, in a country that generates close to 8.7 million tons of municipal waste per year, of which only the 2.72 % is valorized While 39 % ends up in informal dumps, Urbanova decided to take on a different role and propose a solution. In this context, the ECOS, a comprehensive strategy for Urbanova which seeks to transform the way in which waste is managed and build a culture where materials are not discarded, but find a new purpose.

Results that turn into real impact

During the 2025, ECOS allowed recover 108 tons of waste in common areas of Urbanova's corporate buildings. In its shopping centers, the results were a milestone: more than 14 tons of organic waste were recovered in food courts and 2.8 tons of plastic bottles were recovered in corridors and high traffic areas. But the impact does not end there. Thanks to strategic alliances with organizations such as Jireh, Sinba and Khana, the recovered waste is now being recycled. are transformed into products with social impactThe company's products: blankets that sheltered vulnerable communities, recycled cardboard desks for educational projects and sustainable materials made with high percentages of recovered content. Among them, the following stand out Contribute, Breca's social impact platform, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, has accompanied the design and evolution of the initiative from a people-centered perspective.

Through a data-driven methodological approach and people-centered design, Aporta contributed to co-create a strategy capable of transforming segregation habits of waste from thousands of visitors to Urbanova's corporate and commercial destinations. This collaboration has made it possible to turn sustainability into an everyday action, making it easier for more people to actively participate in waste recovery and strengthening the positive impact generated by ECOS.

A cultural change driving the road to 2030

ECOS has also transformed the dynamics within the organization's urban destinations. The recycling stations naturally integrated into their offices and shopping centers, promoting cleaner and more orderly spaces, and strengthening the culture of sustainability in its business community.
